A photo from a recent trip to White Sands National Park in New Mexico, USA. I was hiking the gypsum dunes until the light got very low. Out there I found this pattern, which I can't explain. I assume it is a result of dissolving the partially soluble gypsum followed by a drying process disturbed by wind. It had rained a lot before I got there. But not likely caused by an alien spaceship landing, even Area 51 isn't faraway. Hope you enjoy the photo.
