I took this photo last October during a road trip through New Mexico, USA. The day before we arrived at White Sands a storm with heavy rain and high winds moved through the area. It was still very windy when we hiked into the gypsum dune field and the blowing sand obscured the landscape. Right before sunset the wind quite down and we were rewarded with this amazing pastel colored nightfall. I recommend bringing a GPS, in the dark it can become tricky to find the way back.
